Missionary
Disipleship
In Chapter Five of the programmatic apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis called for a spirit-filled evangelization and the formation of spirit-filled evangelizers.
The Holy Father says, “How I long to find the right words to stir up enthusiasm for a new chapter of evangelization full of fervour, joy, generosity, courage, boundless love and attraction (EG, 261)!”
He also emphasizes the fundamental role of the first announcement or kerygma, which needs to be the center of all evangelizing activity and all efforts at Church renewal (EG, 164).
The program for the formation of Spirit-filled Evangelizers is intended to:
TRAININGS
Offer a training and education for committed young men and women on new evangelization principles and methods.
KERYGMA
Provide the Archdiocese with missionary disciples whose focus will be on kerygma or initial proclamation of the faith through the way of beauty (“via pulchritudinis”, EG 167).
ENCOUNTER
Create a Culture of Encounter among youth ministry, schools, parishes and community and help them develop and run their own missionary discipleship program.
